Jake praised after Walsall

Consistent midfielder earns star man award

Neal Ardley saluted Jake Reeves for his consistency after the midfielder’s impressive performance against Walsall yesterday.

Jake earned the sponsor’s man of the match award for his display in the win against Walsall, but it’s a level of performance that the manager has come to expect.

Speaking during his post-match interview with WDON’s Rob Cornell for Dons Player, Neal Ardley said: “Jake very rarely dips below anything other than very good. I think he is one of the best midfielders in the league. His energy, drive and tempo is good. That is why we played Tom Soares and Dannie Bulman in there. We wanted Tom and Jake to carry the fight into the midfield because Walsall do crowd the midfield out. You can lose it in there and I didn’t think we did at all.

“I thought everyone played well from the goalie through to the centre forwards. George Francomb is filling in well at right-back, Sean had a very good game as well. We are delighted, it’s a big week ahead, and that sets us off to a good start really.”

and match-winner Lyle Taylor also talked passionately to us about coming through a difficult spell, thanks to support from staff and supporters. Extended highlights of the win against Walsall will be on our premium channel from 12 noon today. Dons PlayerNeal Ardley’s full post-match reaction is on
