Watch video from a brilliant day for the club

Neal Ardley paid tribute to a fantastic turnout today as supporters packed into Wimbledon town centre for a hugely successful blue and yellow celebration.

On a proud day for the club, Leader of Merton Council Stephen Alambritis gave a passionate speech about helping AFC Wimbledon move back to its spiritual home and supporters once again hailed captain Barry Fuller as he held the League 2 play-off trophy aloft from an open-top bus.

The first-team squad and management had earlier travelled around Merton on the bus, saluted by fans as they passed through Wimbledon Village and down the hill towards the town centre. But the reception that awaited them in the town centre was something that they will never forget.

Neal Ardley said: “To have this amount of people come here four weeks after the event and show the same passion as on the day is brilliant. By the way, what a day! For you to all come together at the greatest stadium in the world and watch your team win after all your hard work, it does not get better than that.”
