Double event is a great success

Ivor Heller wished to thank club staff, volunteers, supporters and Merton Council for pitching together to make it a hugely successful AFC Wimbledon celebration on Sunday.

Supporters flocked to Wimbledon town centre to welcome an open-top bus with our Wembley heroes on board, before a kit launch in Centre Court launched the new Admiral range.

Our Commercial Director Ivor Heller said: “The most important thing is that it was Wimbledon back in Wimbledon, which is what we’ve always wanted. What it shows is just how big this promotion has been, not just to our fans, but to the people of Wimbledon in general.

“People were really impressed with how we celebrated the promotion on the night. Loads of fans had a party in Wimbledon and we also had celebrations at the club. We did not have a single problem and that is incredibly rare. It’s something that the club will cherish forever. The promotion has had a massive impact upon the community.

“I want to say a massive well done to all of our volunteers, staff, and Merton Council as they have all really pitched in together. Everyone has worked really hard to make it a successful event.”
