Ryan Clarke talks about facing Rochdale on Saturday

In-depth interviews with experienced goalkeeper Ryan Clarke and young defender Toby Sibbick are well worth watching on Dons Player.

Clarke (pictured) talked about a memorable debut at tomorrow’s opponents Rochdale as a 17-year-old, while Sibbick at the same age is striving to get that coveted first-team opportunity after signing a pro deal today.

Having earned his first clean sheet for AFC Wimbledon at Northampton last weekend, Clarke is hoping to build on that tomorrow – and he has praised the backing he’s received from Dons fans since joining the club.

“Rochdale is a tough place to go and with the manager they have in charge they are a good football team,” said Clarke. “I don’t think I’ve won at Rochdale, but I remember making my debut there as a 17-year-old. I came on and gave away a penalty, but I managed to save it. Any win is nice, but Rochdale is going to be a tough game and we know what to expect. To get a win on a personal level would be great, but also for the football club.

“It’s nice to play for a club that gets a very good following away from home. Not a lot of clubs get the level of support we do away from home. The way that they also get behind the team is very impressive. It would be good to return the favour by getting a result on Saturday.”

Interviews with Clarke and Toby Sibbick, along with Neal Ardley’s extensive update ahead of Rochdale, are all on Dons Player. Our WDON team will also be providing full commentary from Rochdale as part of the service.
