Striker's pace can be potent weapon says team-mate
Andy Frampton has predicted that Adebayo Azeez will give League 2 defenders a tough time next season after his impressive display against Sutton United last night.
Neal Ardley says that he aims to utilise Ade’s pace as an alternative to the experience and craft of Matt Tubbs and Bayo Akinfenwa.
It’s an exciting scenario for Frampton, who has played in the Football League for 15 years since making his debut for Crystal Palace in 1999.
Speaking to Rob Cornell during an interview for Dons Player, Frampton said: “I think we saw in fits and starts tonight what Ade can do. When you see him go he can really move. He’s going to frighten a few defenders next season I can tell you that. Ade and Bayo looked like a good partnership last night and we also have Matt Tubbs, who came on and was very good.
“It was vital that we got our first win of pre-season tonight. I was actually very disappointed with the Chelsea result, but that’s gone now. Everything is about the first game of the season and we need to have a winning mentality, whether it’s a friendly or not.”

Frampton partnered 18-year-old Will Nightingale in central defence last night and he believes the Wimbledon academy product is improving all the time.
“Will has a lot to learn, but he’s really making strides this pre-season,” added Frampton. “It’s good to see him playing so well. Will’s had problems with injuries so he will have to be careful, but if he keeps learning at the speed that he does then he’s got a very bright future.
“All the young lads have come back for pre-season and they’re right on it. That’s the way it should be because there’s no point hanging about waiting for another season. A season is a long time in football. Chace Jacquart did well and got the winning goal and hopefully he will gain confidence from that. If he can put a couple more good performances in then he may be able to stake a claim.”
