Silent Auction attracts bids

Bid for items by e-mail until 1.00 am on Saturday morning

There's still time to get involved in our 2013 Dons Trust Silent Auction before Saturday's live event at the club.

Our auction team have already received a big bid of £650 for the last-ever Wimbledon FC shirt and all the items are listed below, along with the value of bids received so far.

Now firmly established as a valuable annual fundraiser for the Dons Trust with nearly £25,000 raised since its inception, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. The picture above shows item one, which is a tribute to Wimbledon FC's 1963 FA Amateur Cup win (more details below).

Paul Jeater and Ray Armfield have assembled another tempting selection of goodies for your perusal (please view the gallery of pictures above to see what’s on offer).

   The auction will close at 2.30 pm on Saturday. If you wish to bid for an item on the day, simply write your details and your bid on the form by that item and if yours is the highest then you win that item.

Below is the list of lots for the Silent Auction, along with a brief description on each

Lot 1 - 1963 revisited

A triple framed momento of Wimbledon’s epic Amateur Cup win at Wembley, featuring a signed photograph of Dons captain Roy Law, the match programme, and a rare Scorcher comic that depicts the four goals from Eddie Reynolds.

Lot 2 – Luke Moore shirt (£150)

Match-worn and signed Luke Moore maroon away shirt, which is named, numbered and complete with the nPower sleeve sponsorship.

Lot 3 - Heroes of Manchester (£50)

An AFC Wimbledon programme cover featuring the two penalty shootout heroes – goalkeeper Seb Brown and skipper Danny Kedwell – framed and signed by both players.

Lot 4 – The First League goal

A3-sized colour print of the historic moment at Sandhurst Town when Kevin Cooper scored AFC Wimbledon’s first competitive goal in the Combined Counties League. Signed by ‘Coops’ himself.

Lot 5 – Neal Ardley shirt

A yellow away shirt worn by Neal Ardley during Wimbledon’s 2000/01 Championship season. Complete with Tiny logo and Nationwide sleeve badges. Can be signed by Neal to the winning bidder if desired.

Lot 6 – 1988 revisited item one (£300)

Attractively-framed print commemorating the contributions of Lawrie Sanchez and Dave Beasant to Wimbledon’s 1988 FA Cup Final win over Liverpool. Signed by Lawrie Sanchez.

Lot 7 – 1988 revisited item two (£130)

Another famous moment in that historic Wembley win, captured in time as Dave Beasant saves John Aldridge’s penalty. Signed by ‘Lurch’ and nicely framed, ready to hang on your home or office wall.

Lot 8 – The last Wimbledon FC shirt (£650)

A poignant slice of Dons history from the last recognised season as Wimbledon FC. Signed by many of the squad on what is a controversial shirt for many supporters. This is a rarity.

Lot 9 – THAT tackle! (£105)

Toby Ajala announces himself to his opposite number at a certain FA Cup match last season. Signed by the artist (so to speak). This will be a popular item in more ways than one!

Lot 10 – AFC Wimbledon Matchball Sponsorship package

A pre-match meal, along with President’s Lounge match tickets, signed matchball and photograph with the man-of-the-match for four people. This will be at a game to be negotiated with the commercial department. (Please note there is a reserve price on this item).

Lot 11 – 2003 signed AFC Wimbledon football (£100)

An official AFC Wimbledon football from the club’s inaugural season, signed by many of the original squad including Joe Sheerin, Kevin Cooper, Keith Ward and Simon Bassey. In good condition.

Lot 12 – The 2012 Olympic Heroes set.

Relive the feel-good factor from last summer’s unforgettable Olympic games with these three signed autobiographies from iconic 2012 personalities Lord Sebastian Coe, Mo Farah and David Weir.

Lot 13 – The Ashes set

With the Ashes in full swing, this is an ideal package for the cricket fan in your life. Signed autobiographies from Australian legend Shane Warne, England wicket-keeper Matt Prior and a mini-bat signed by England captain Alastair Cook and top batsman Ian Bell.

Lot 14 – Who’s Surrey Now?

Professionally framed Surrey County Cricket player-issue shirt signed by most of the 2006 squad including Mark Ramprakash, Mark Butcher and Ian Salisbury. Another rarity that deserves a good home!

Lot 15 – Jenson Button F1

Shrink-wrapped and fully-certificated signed t-shirt from the F1 racing ace, expertly-framed with two action photos of the former World Champion doing what he does best. A great gift for motorsport fans.

Lot 16 - The Price is Right!

Attention all golf fans! We have one of Phil Price’s official Ryder Cup polo shirts from 2002 when the Welshman’s historic win over Phil Mickelson secured a historic win for Europe. Signed and framed. You won’t want to miss this one.

Lot 17 – Call of Duty X Box ‘Ghosts’ Prestige Edition

With an RRP of £149.99, this box set comes with a host of accessories to keep you entertained. Has a reserve price and bidders must be aged 16 or over due to the nature of the game.

From our sponsors Sports Interactive, another bumper bundle of games, accessories and exclusive promotional merchandise.

Lot 19a & 19b – Whisky in the jar!

We’ve got two baskets containing miniatures of well-known and less-well-known Whiskies from Scotland. You’ll need to be 18 years or older to bid for these and they would make ideal presents for the festive season.

Lot 20 - You need Hans (and Neil)!

A pair of goalkeepers gloves, one signed by Wimbledon favourite Neil Sullivan, plus another by the “Flying Dutchman” Hans Segers. Ideal for framing as a set.
