, Bennett said: “There are still a couple of lads I know there and Cheltenham are just trying to find their feet this season because the manager has gone in a different direction with the team. I have no doubt that they will be up there by the end of this season because you do not get into the play-offs in successive seasons with an average team and they still have players left who helped them get there.Dons PlayerSpeaking to Rob Cornell on

“They have had injuries and now have players coming back. Mark will have been on at them all week to put it in during training and they will come out firing on Saturday. We have to be prepared for that reaction and get to grips with that in the first 30 minutes and hopefully we can do what we do best. I had a great time there, but you move on and it is good that we are near the top of the table.”

Bennett believes Wimbledon’s attacking options have made them a different proposition from when they last travelled to Whaddon Road seven months ago.

“It has been a massive turnaround for us,” Bennett added. “They say a week is a long time in football, but seven months is like an eternity. We have had a really good start. I think we have four wide players who are among the best in the league in their positions. If they do not start, then they will come on and make an impact. We have got great pace and that is what the manager wanted from the start.”

Dons Player subscribers can watch the full six-minute video interview with Alan Bennett shortly and we will also feature the thoughts of Neal Ardley on our premium site later.
