Team news from the training ground

Terry Brown confirmed in a video interview on Dons Player this afternoon that he is aiming to strengthen his squad before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Speaking at our training ground today, Terry revealed that his defensive options are currently limited for Saturday’s home match against Dagenham & Redbridge. On-loan left-back Curtis Haynes-Brown will not be ready for Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday after suffering concussion against Bradford. Captain Mat Mitchel-King has been allowed compassionate leave for personal reasons and is unavailable, while Curtis Osano and Rashid Yussuff are still out.

“We are looking to supplement the squad in the short-term,” Terry said. “We need to bolster the squad, particularly in defence. We have picked up injuries and Mat Mitchel-King is not going to be available for selection.”

Terry also updated us on our development squad’s progress in the interview, a young Dons side having acquitted themselves well in a 3-2 defeat at Nottingham Forest yesterday. Though aided by two own goals from the hosts, Terry said it was a very encouraging performance and that players may have earned a chance to feature in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Southend United on Tuesday night.
