International fanbase to meet at AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon’s links with the Nerdfighter community will be strengthened on Saturday 9 July when the club hosts an historic meeting here.
“The first European Nerdfighter Convention” is scheduled to take place at the Cherry Red Records Stadium with the conference focusing on charity projects undertaken by this growing community.
Our picture above shows Nerdfighters coming together to support the Dons at Wembley recently, a bond with the club that has grown since John Green started sponsoring AFC Wimbledon.
John’s partnership with his brother Hank to form the vlogbrothers You Tube channel in 2007 led to the start of Nerdfighteria. His channel utilised video blogs as a way of the brothers communicating with each other from different parts of the USA. Since then, vlogbrothers has gained an international fanbase known collectively as “Nerdfighters” and has been involved in charity work.
