Dons Ladies aim for a treble of wins

AFC Wimbledon Ladies will be aiming for a third successive victory on Sunday after a superb display of finishing from Caz Bisson led their charge up the table.

Bisson (pictured) struck all four goals in a 4-0 win against bottom placed Hassocks that marched Wimbledon up to second in London & South East Regional Women’s Premier Division ahead of their trip to Aylesford on Sunday. And it was an individual performance from Wimbledon’s top scorer that earned special praise from manager Chris Lyons.

“Caz was superb again today,” said Chris. “Not only is Caz clinical in front of goal, but she also works very hard for the team. She’s a super player, and her application is brilliant. Having said that, we’re a tight collective and I was very happy with the whole squad. Everyone played a part in the win, and the ladies were very professional in how they approached the game.

“I was also very happy to see both Linsey Clarke and Jess Trimnell get back to playing after so long out with injuries. It has been a difficult start to the season for them both, and today they showed great character and came back as if nothing had happened.”

“The win consolidates our position in the top four, but we’re not getting carried away. We know there is a lot of football to be played, so we will just approach one week at a time, picking up points as we go.”

The AFC Wimbledon Ladies Development side were also victorious as they maintained their 100 per cent winning League record by beating Hackney Ladies 2-0.
