Away tie in Capital One Cup for Wimbledon
The Dons have been handed a Capital One Cup first round away tie at Championship outfit Millwall in this morning’s draw.
It is a match that will bring back memories of AFC Wimbledon’s FA Cup first round tie at The Den when Dons supporters filled the North Stand at the ground (see picture above) on 9 November, 2009.
Then in the Conference, Wimbledon made a game of it with Lewis Taylor pulling one back to make it 2-1, but Danny Schofield and Jason Price added further goals for a 4-1 Millwall win.
This year’s cup tie against the Lions will also have extra significance for Dons manager Neal Ardley, who ended his playing career with Millwall in 2007.
The tie will be played during the week commencing 5 August.
