Midfielder says he's thriving at Wimbledon

Dannie Bulman believes he’s got plenty of life in him yet as a League 2 midfielder after signing an extended contract with AFC Wimbledon.

Birthday and he made it a happy occasion on the field by helping to beat Accrington Stanley.th We announced that Bulman had signed a contract extension just a day before the midfielder celebrated his 36

Speaking to Rob Cornell during an interview for Dons Player, Bulman said: “I’m enjoying every minute of it here. The club is quite local to me and the manager gives me the time off I need because apparently I’m getting old! I think the manager brought in David Connolly to give me a boost! I’m feeling good and really enjoying it.

“It was a very good day at the office (win v Accrington), but it could have been better if my shot had gone in. I thought the goal that they scored could have been prevented, but we got the three points in the end. Now we move on to the next game. We will go up to Morecambe and give them a good run for their money. Hopefully, we can get another win.”

Bulman, who has featured in 33 games in all competitions this season, continues to offer his wealth of experience in the midfield engine room, but he was part of a Dons side with a youthful spine on Saturday.

Academy product Will Nightingale came in for his debut at centre back with on-loan Craig Tanner up front and Bulman was impressed with both youngsters.

“I was very impressed with Will,” said Bulman. “He’s a very aggressive player who heads anything in his way. I’ve been on the receiving end of a few of Will’s challenges myself! He is a good lad who really wants to learn and his inclusion was well justified. Craig really caught the eye with his nice turns and he put in a bit of a shift for the team, which is always nice to see. It was all good for us.”

Dannie Bulman was talking during an interview for Dons Player and subscribers will this afternoon be able to watch extended highlights of the win versus Accrington Stanley and an interview with Barry Fuller.
