Closer to home, Dons fan Mike Berry attended a football-related event that resulted in him meeting Steven Gerrard – and talking about AFC Wimbledon to the Liverpool hero.

Though Mike had to remain professional as he was attending BT Sport’s Champions League launch at the Olympic Park in his role as a journalist at The Publican’s Morning Advertiser, he couldn’t resist talking to Stevie G about the Dons!

Mike, who takes his two sons Stanley and Joe to Wimbledon matches, said: “I took the opportunity to introduce myself to Stevie and I managed to get his autograph for my son Stanley. I chatted to Stevie about our FA Cup match against Liverpool and he was very complimentary. He said it was a tough match and he remembered our big guy (Bayo Akinfenwa) getting his shirt! Stevie came across as a really nice guy and I wished him luck for his future career.”

Plenty of Dons abroad feature in our gallery, including Sharon and Ray Armfield in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, young Ed Say wearing his beloved Dons goalkeeper jersey in St Lucia and Liam Nolan outside the MCG Stadium in Australia. Derek Goodhew sent in a great picture of him during the Moonstone Trek in Peru and Matt Jennings also reached the summit wearing Dons colours at Monte Tore, Menorca.
