League leaders rocked by second-half equaliser

AFC Wimbledon Ladies stunned league leaders London Corinthians on Sunday by snatching a second-half equaliser that was undoubtedly one of their highlights of 2013/14.

Though it’s been a difficult season for the Dons, they’ve kept plugging away and yesterday’s excellent 1-1 draw against the top team in the London & South East Regional Women’s Premier Division offered some reward.

However, Wimbledon were transformed after the break and they equalised in superb style when Bernice Tully scored with a delightful volley.

minute and Wimbledon therefore had to be at their best to deny the league leaders with so much time still on the clock.thThat goal came in the 49

But they deservedly held Corinthians for the remainder of the match and the final whistle signalled jubilant scenes from Wimbledon’s players as it was just their second draw in the league this season.
