Dons traineeship programme

21 April 2016

Applicants wanted for a great opportunity

Maybe you are struggling to get on the first rung of the employment ladder?  Or do you want to go into employment but don’t know what you want to do?  Not sure which course to take at college or if further education is for you? Are you aged 16-18 and not sure what to do next?

Our 12 week traineeship programme will help you find out more about the world of work and help you to take the next steps that are right for you.

What’s involved?

For 12 weeks you’ll be a trainee at AFC Wimbledon.

You’ll spend three days per week on work placement doing a variety of roles within the club, which might include coaching, administration, hospitality, grounds maintenance, match day duties or being a shop assistant.

You’ll spend a day developing employability skills such a CV writing, interview techniques, money skills or problem solving.

One day a week will be spent developing your functional skills (for example if you don’t have English & Maths to GCSE grade C).

As a trainee you will also take a basic coaching qualification with us.

By the end of the programme you’ll be in a much better position to choose your next step: into work with training, an apprenticeship, or into full time education.

The programme is also open for individuals up to the age of 24 years old if they have a local authority sourced statement of disability.

The AFC Wimbledon Traineeship Programme will run from Monday May 9th so please get your applications in immediately.

Financial help with travel is available for eligible trainees along with AFC Wimbledon kit.

If you are interested on the programme, know anyone who could benefit, or if you would like more information, please e-mail or contact 02089 745712.  joe.roberts@afcwimbledonfoundation.org.uk
