Team effort helps to make a difference

Around 70 supporters of all ages showed what AFC Wimbledon is all about this weekend by volunteering to clean-up the stadium.

The first of two close season work weekends at the Cherry Red Records Stadium was well attended with people who have been involved since the club was reformed helping out.

However, the collective effort also attracted “new recruits” to our volunteer base including father-and-son Bartek and Maximillian Wisniewski (pictured above).

Polish-born Bartek, who is a Dons Trust member, and his 10-year-old son, were busy this morning cleaning the area in the Your Golf Travel terrace used by away supporters.

At the other end of the age spectrum, 76-year-old Gordon Butt painted the terraces at the ground.

AFC Wimbledon wishes to thank all volunteers for their hard work this weekend as they completed a variety of jobs to spruce up the stadium in time for pre-season.

A more detailed feature on our dedicated volunteers, including photographs, will appear on the official website on Tuesday.
