First-team training takes centre stage
Neal Ardley is looking forward to putting on tomorrow’s open training session for the supporters and he hopes it will bring everyone together heading into a new season.
Doors open at 11.00 am tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at the Cherry Red Records Stadium for an exciting day of entertainment that starts with Neal and his squad stepping up preparations for 2015/16.
The AFC Wimbledon Foundation will be staging events aimed at younger fans, but it is a day that is aimed at supporters of all ages.
Neal Ardley said: “We had a discussion with the board a while back and we talked about wanting to do something. I pitched in some ideas that have worked at other clubs and it materialised from there. I think it’s quite exciting for the fans to come down and see what we’re doing in training.
“The hope is that we will explain in between blocks of training what we are doing and why. Supporters will get to actually understand the session and there will be various other things going on. It will be great to open everything up for the fans and just get that togetherness going in the build-up to the new season.”

Football tournament for children, plus skills sessions with AFC Wimbledon Foundation coaches (at Kingsmeadow Athletics Centre)1.30 – 3.30 pm

Haydon the Womble will be present and the community team will also be staging an inflatable shoot-out and a beat-the-keeper competition. Free snacks and a drink will be available for children and the bar will also be open at the event.
The club shop will be open for business tomorrow.
