Christian leaves Wimbledon

Chief Executive praises Christian's contribution

AFC Wimbledon can confirm that Christian Jolley has today completed a move to Blue Square Premier side Newport County.

The 24-year-old, who had a successful loan spell with the Conference promotion-chasers earlier this season, has now joined on a permanent basis for an undisclosed sum.

AFC Wimbledon wishes to thank Christian for all his efforts in a Dons shirt since he joined the club in the summer of 2010 from Kingstonian. The forward struck 12 goals during Wimbledon’s promotion-winning season from the Conference and he was an integral member of the squad as Terry Brown guided the Dons back to the Football League.

Christian has found his opportunities limited this season though after a prolific start to the 2011/12 campaign following promotion.

However, Christian leaves having made an excellent contribution to AFC Wimbledon’s success during the past two-and-a-half years.

AFC Wimbledon Chief Executive, Erik Samuelson, said: “Christian played a major part in our promotion season and I vividly remember him scoring a fine goal after coming on as substitute in the semi-final second-leg play-off win against Fleetwood. I would like to wish Christian every success at Newport County and I look forward to seeing him back in League 2 in the near future.”
