Dons recall Christian Jolley

14 December 2012

Christian's sparkling form at Newport is rewarded

AFC Wimbledon have today decided to recall Christian Jolley from a loan spell at Newport County after his excellent recent form.

Manager Neal Ardley has decided to activate the 28-day release clause on the pacy forward’s loan deal, which was due to run until January.

Speaking to Dons Player, the Wimbledon manager said: “Christian has done really well during his loan. The reason he went out on loan was to regain his confidence and match fitness. Christian seems to have done that and we will talk about where he fits in for us in the coming weeks.”

The 24-year-old, who struck five goals in five games at Blue Square Premier leaders Newport, is unlikely to feature in tomorrow’s squad for the visit of Rotherham as he is carrying an injury knock.

Meanwhile, Neal Ardley has told Dons Player that Wimbledon’s management team are working tirelessly to line-up potential signings, ahead of the January transfer window.

“We know we need to strengthen,” he said. “But identifying what we need for the dynamics of the team and actually getting the right players to join a club in a League 2 relegation dogfight is tough. I can assure supporters that we are exhausting ourselves though and looking at every option we can to get the players in who will improve us.”

Dons Player subscribers can view the full video interview with Neal Ardley and later this afternoon the thoughts of flying winger Toby Ajala on his promising start at AFC Wimbledon.
