Dons fans can buy new kit after launch

The club’s new kits will be unveiled today (Sunday) at 1.00 pm in the heart of Wimbledon with players of all ages sporting our new Admiral range.

First-teamers, academy players and AFC Wimbledon Girls and Ladies will be modelling new home and away kits, along with training wear, at Centre Court Shopping Centre and supporters will be able to purchase the new range for the first time.

In association with Admiral Sportswear, the kit launch is being staged on the traditional Sunday break from the annual two-week tennis festival in SW19.

Here is a schedule of approximate timings for Sunday’s event:

We announced earlier this year that the club had agreed a four-year deal with Admiral to be its new kit supplier. It will be the first UK kit supply deal for the owners of the Admiral brand, Admiral Sportswear Limited.

However, the new agreement has special significance for the Dons because club heroes including Vinnie Jones and John Fashanu wore the famous Admiral logo for Wimbledon, a previous commercial partnership that ended in 1992/93.

Established in 1914 in Leicester by Harold Hurst and Christopher Cook, Admiral started life as a supplier to the British Armed Forces, but it has since become known as a renowned sports kit supplier.

A ground-breaking deal came when Admiral agreed a five-year contract with the English FA in 1974 to produce the first commercially available England football shirt. Having also supplied the England cricket team with kit, Admiral remains the only ever brand to have appeared on both the English national cricket and football teams’ playing kit.
