Charity event at the training ground
An AFC Wimbledon supporter has lined up a unique challenge at the training ground next Thursday in an effort to raise funds for Merton Mencap.
Wayne ‘Mini Beast’ Lecky, who attends High Path Day Community Resource Centre, will first wrestle with Bayo Akinfenwa and Tom Elliott at the centre circle, before running towards the penalty area with top scorer Lyle Taylor, and then attempting to score past James Shea. However, Wayne will have to beat tough-tackling club captain Barry Fuller before getting a chance to hit the back of the net!
In previous seasons, a fun charity event with members of High Path has taken place at half-time during a match, but this time it was decided to do things a bit differently.
Last year Richard Dorris took part in a penalty shoot-out when he had to beat our very own Commercial Director Ivor Heller.
