Dons favourite on extending his stay

said he is excited to be a part of Neal Ardley’s plans for next season with the Wimbledon manager having brought in five new players so far this summer.Luke Moore

at the training ground today after signing a new contract with Wimbledon, Luke said: “The manager brought in some great players in January and we felt that they gelled straight away, which helped us push on. I have now seen the players that Neal has brought in so far this summer during training and they appear to be top quality players. We had a short game in training today and the new players looked sharp. Hopefully, they can help us push on up the table next season.Dons PlayerSpeaking to

“The manager played at a high level during his career and he knows what to expect from us. We have to show what we can do in training every day and all push for a place in the team. The pre-season games are coming up soon and we have to be fit and raring to go.”

The 25-year-old, who hit top form at the end of last season and impressed Neal Ardley with his versatility during 2012/13, also spoke about what it meant to extend his four-year stay at AFC Wimbledon.

“It is great to get it sorted now,” Luke added. “I have been away on holiday and I just wanted to come back and finalise it because it was just a case of putting pen to paper really. I wanted to do all I could to help us stay up last season because this club gave me my first chance at this level. After all the hard work everyone at the club put in to get into the Football League it would have been a massive blow if we had gone down. But we deserve to be in this league. There are a lot of big clubs in League 2 next season, but if we have a good start and can build some momentum then anything could happen.”
