Information for supporters

AFC Wimbledon are pleased to announce the launch of our new web site, which is now live for supporters to view.

In common with 85 other football clubs, our new website will be hosted by Football League Interactive (FLi) – the digital arm of the Football League.

What does this mean?

The design of our website (which remains afcwimbledon.co.uk) will be new, but we have worked with the FLi design team to ensure the new site is as easy to use as possible.

All the items you would expect to find on the site are there; Team news, ticket information, news on progressing a new stadium in Plough Lane, away match travel information etc. We have additionally worked with FLi to ensure that as much of the information as possible on our current site is migrated to the new one (items such as match reports, players stats etc).

Some information will remain on the former site but will be reached via the new site which will guide you to the appropriate place.

What are the benefits?

By being part of the FLi package, their digital team are responsible for updating the site, meaning fans should see news, match statistics etc. up on the site far quicker than we are currently able to achieve.

Additionally the club will benefit from the commercial arrangements that FLi have in place, meaning that we will receive a share of the revenue from advertising that appears on the site. We will also receive revenue from fans just visiting afcwimbledon.co.uk (meaning that whenever you read a match report, the club earns revenue). During our first season back in the Football League, not being part of FLi was a commercial disadvantage.

It has already been stated that AFC Wimbledon has one of the lowest playing budgets in League 2 and we hope that the commercial benefits of the new website will help the club make progress on the pitch.

FLi will also be launching a new mobile optimised website in September (built on the Netbiscuits mobile publishing platform). Once launched this mean our fans who access our website via their smartphones will have a much improved experience.

Dons Player

At the same time as launching our new site, we will also launch Dons Player.

Dons Player provides access to exclusive news and interviews; live audio commentary; and match and extended highlights. All such content is free of advertisements, and carried on a high quality 1.8MB Flash stream.

Once our new site has been launched, Radio WDON and filmed interviews will only be accessible via Dons Player.

Dons Player can be paid for in a number of ways (with a year’s subscription equivalent to just over 10p per day).  Dons playerTo join, click on
