Oakley goes out on loan

Young striker joins Ks

George Oakley has today joined Kingstonian on loan for a month with the aim of gaining more first-team opportunities.

Oakley has joined Ks in a one-month loan deal and Kingstonian manager Tommy Williams said he will go straight into his squad for the FA Trophy tie at Leatherhead tomorrow.

The 19-year-old striker made seven first-team substitute appearances for Wimbledon during 2014/15, but he has only featured once this season.

However, Oakley is a player the Ryman Premier League club have tracked for some time and Williams is delighted to give the young striker an opportunity.

“I would like to thank Neal Ardley and Neil Cox for helping us out and allowing this to go through,” said Williams. “George is someone we have tracked since the start of this season because we were impressed with him when he played against us in a pre-season friendly.

“I have been keeping an eye on George in Under-21 games and we are delighted that he is joining us. He will certainly add more firepower and will go straight into the squad for our game on Saturday.”

All at AFC Wimbledon wish George Oakley every success in his loan spell at Kingstonian.
