New contract for Sammy

Midfielder commits to AFC Wimbledon

We are pleased to confirm that Sammy Moore has signed a new contract at AFC Wimbledon after impressing manager Neal Ardley with his consistent performances during 2013/14.

Sammy, who joined Wimbledon in 2010 and is therefore the club’s longest serving player, was an integral part of the squad last season as he made 40 appearances in League 2.

And re-signing the 26-year-old was therefore a priority for Neal Ardley as he looks to build a competitive squad for next season.

“I thought he was one of our most consistent players last season alongside the likes of Barry Fuller and Andy Frampton,” said Neal. “It’s a tough league that we’re in and it requires a lot of players to do the work that makes them ‘unsung heroes’. Sammy is one of those players. He works really hard for the team and it was important to sign him again as we look to improve next season.”

Sammy signed for AFC Wimbledon from Dover in the summer of 2010 and he helped the Dons back into the Football League in his first season with the club.
