Seb Brown on Burton
Seb talks about his season so far
Seb Brown has already had an eventful start to the season with despair at Stevenage followed by a man of the match performance against Chesterfield on Saturday.
Speaking to Dons Player, our number one looks ahead to tonight’s trip to Burton Albion and reveals how he put his bad experience at the Lamex Stadium behind him.
Summing up the highs and lows of being a goalkeeper, Seb said: “The day after you are analysing it and going over and over it in your head, but when you get back in training then you have to forget about it. I think I took my eye off the ball (at Stevenage), their guy was coming to shut me down, and that was it. I spoke to Paul Priddy (our goalkeeping coach) and it is amazing how all goalkeepers seem to have a story to tell about one of their mistakes. You get a bit of stick from the boys and you move onto the next game. It was nice that we had another game on the Saturday so that I did not have to wait a whole week for another game.
“After the pre-season that we had when we conceded a few goals, we have worked hard on the defensive side of things and it was good that this paid off with a clean sheet on Saturday.”
On tonight’s trip to the Pirelli Stadium, Seb said: “I was looking at the programme on Saturday and the next four games are against teams who finished directly below us in the table in that exact order. Everyone will maybe look at that and say we have a good chance here, but it will not be as easy as it seems. Burton got beat on Saturday, but Rotherham away is a tough start for anyone. Hopefully, we can go there while they are still licking their wounds and pile on the pressure.”
