More details about a packed weekend of events
The inaugural “Ale FC Wimbledon” beer festival promises to be a fantastic summer weekend at the club and we are delighted to announce further details about this event.
In partnership with the Wimbledon Brewery, we will be offering over 40 cask ales, ciders, perries and craft beers available from local and regional breweries at the Cherry Red Records Stadium from 10-12 July.
As we previously announced, a home friendly match against newly promoted Premier League club Watford will be the showpiece event of the three-day festival, but we will also be staging plenty of other entertainment for you to enjoy while you sample a great selection of drinks.
Below is a summary of what is going on during each day of the festival:
Friday, 10 July (5.00 pm-1.00 am)
Opening day offers you a chance to choose from our fine selection first! There will also be an opportunity to discover the art of producing your favourite tipple. Derek Prentice, who is master brewer at the Wimbledon Brewery, will be doing a presentation, along with a Q & A on all things beer related.
Saturday, 11 July (12 noon until 1.00 am)
The Dons host Watford with two clubs sponsored by Sports Interactive contesting the Football Manager Cup (3.00 pm kick-off). Tickets will be sold separately for this match and details will be announced soon on the official website. The amazing Oompah Brass Band will be performing throughout the day. Cricket fans can watch day four of the first Ashes test against Australia on our big screens.
Sunday, 12 July (12.00 noon until 6.00 pm)
The conclusion of our beer festival could also have an exciting sporting edge as it is the final scheduled day for the first Ashes test. You can watch the finale on our TV screens and hopefully toast an England win! Throughout the weekend a selection of hot food will be available and music, activities and competitions will feature throughout the three days.
