Club presence at the Wimbledon Village Fair

Ivor Heller has called on Dons supporters to provide their backing for an event on Saturday, 22 June that captures the “heart and soul” of the Wimbledon community.

Since helping to form AFC Wimbledon 11 years ago, our Commercial Director has been at the forefront of ensuring the club maintains a presence at the Wimbledon Village Fair, which attracts up to 20,000 people every summer.

This year is no different and AFC Wimbledon will have a stand at this popular event held at Wimbledon Common. The club will be handing out fixture lists to members of the public for 2013/14 and our award-winning Community Football Scheme will be running its beat the keeper and inflatable shoot-out competitions. The AFC Wimbledon Club Shop will also be selling club merchandise at the event and, of course, Haydon the Womble, will be back in familiar surroundings.

Ivor Heller said: “The Wimbledon Village Fair is an event that we started attending in the first year of the club. It is a fantastic advert for the club because a lot of our fans turn up and wear the colours. It is a great place for us to be because the heart and soul of the Wimbledon community are there. It is an important way for us to do our work at a community level, but also to showcase what the club can bring to businesses in Wimbledon.”
