3 March 2015

Boost your career prospects at the club

The AFC Wimbledon Foundation is seeking to recruit an apprentice to join our close knit and hard-working team.

If you are aged 16 – 19 and would like to earn money as well as a nationally recognised qualification that can lead on to a university place, this fantastic opportunity could be for you. A Level Three Advanced Apprenticeship in Sports Development could lead to the start of a promising career.

About the apprenticeship:

You will be employed by the AFC Wimbledon Foundation (the charitable arm of the football club) on a 30-hour per week contract for one year beginning April 2015, based at AFC Wimbledon’s stadium near Kingston upon Thames (KT1 3PB).

Your working hours will be spent organising, planning and coaching a variety of local community programmes and football/multi-sport sessions, as well as assisting with the day-to-day management tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of the department. You may also be required to help out in other football club departments as and when necessary.

In addition to your main practical duties you will be required to complete the educational aspect of the apprenticeship, which is taught via an online learning platform with assistance from a dedicated tutor from our partners at Virtual Learning UK. This will be completed in office hours, but primarily in your own time.
