Striker earns his reward
Charlie Strutton has today signed a contract at AFC Wimbledon after impressing manager Terry Brown during pre-season.
The 23-year-old forward, who originally signed for us in March from Chalfont St Peter, has done enough to convince the Dons boss he is worth another chance after spending the whole summer with Wimbledon.
"I would like to congratulate Charlie on earning a contract with us," said Terry Brown. "He has worked incredibly hard and his fitness levels are now approaching a level that will allow him to give his best. Having looked at Charlie in training and in games, he has a massive will-to-win, and has a fantastic attitude. He would run through a brick wall for the team. He is a great finisher and goalscorers are a rare commodity. I am absolutely certain that he can play at this level and once he gets off the mark, I am sure that the goals will flow."
Charlie is likely to be in the squad tomorrow night for our first competitive match of the new season in the Capital One Cup at Stevenage.
