George on Wimbledon move

Interview with new signing

New signing George Francomb wasted no time making his loan move to AFC Wimbledon a reality.

In a video interview for Dons Player, the 20-year-old right-back admitted he couldn’t pack his bags quick enough to rush through his loan signing from Norwich City.

George may be highly-rated at Norwich, particularly after his man of the match performance on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup, but he cannot wait to gain more Football League experience with the Dons.

Last season I played for Hibs on loan in front of big crowds at Ibrox and Celtic Park. It is better to play first-team football than just training and playing development games. I cannot wait for my debut. I know bits about the club, I was on loan at Barnet a couple of years ago and I know that Wimbledon get better crowds than them.” “Last night I got the call from Chris Hughton (Norwich manager), who said that Wimbledon were interested in getting me down straight away, so I got my stuff packed and got on the road. It has been a good development for me at Norwich, especially with the two seasons that we had with two promotions.
