Midfielder's Wimbledon loan spell is cut short

AFC Wimbledon can confirm that Jake Reeves has today had his loan spell cut short by Brentford after the League 1 club decided to recall him.

The 19-year-old, who was due to be with Wimbledon until mid-January, has been recalled after 28 days with Brentford having suffered several injuries in the midfield department recently.

Reeves, who played five games at AFC Wimbledon, making his debut in the defeat at Exeter City on 6 November, will go straight into the Brentford squad for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie at Southend tomorrow night.

AFC Wimbledon wishes to thank Jake Reeves (picture above provided by Paul Willatts) for his efforts while with the Dons.

Meanwhile, Christian Jolley continued his impressive loan spell at Newport County with a double in a 3-0 win against Gateshead on Saturday to help Justin Edinburgh’s team top the Blue Square Premier table.

Frankie Merrifield and Emmanuel Akokhia, both loaned out to Harrow Borough, made their debuts for the Ryman Premier club in a 0-0 draw at Whitehawk on Saturday.
