And a call for volunteers
Dons manager Neal Ardley is very keen to avoid any additional fixture backlog and he, Neil Cox and Simon Bassey were working on the pitch today, supporting a group of volunteers who were trying to make sure that Saturday's game against Oxford United can go ahead. Despite heavy overnight rain they were able to make a significant improvement to the playing surface.
However, more rain is expected early tomorrow so if we are to have any chance of playing Saturday's game we need many more helpers to continue the work. If you can spare a couple of hours, or more, please come to the stadium after 10.00 a.m. on Friday to help fork the pitch. We have a good stock of forks but if you can bring your own, please do so.
