Jack Midson interview

Jack ready to step-up

Jack Midson scored his third goal in pre-season last night at Woking, but he admitted that himself and the team must do better.

Speaking to our WDON commentator Rob Cornell after the 2-1 defeat, Jack said: "Looking at the goals we conceded and the chances we created, it was disappointing. We need to try and gel and get that continuity with the new players. Terry and Simon said afterwards that we have a lot of work to do. We have to work hard in all areas, but we will put the effort in, and we will be alright for the start of the season."

Jack added that he expects to do better himself during the rest of pre-season after playing 90 minutes for the first time this summer.

"I am not guaranteed to start myself, so I need to work hard in training, keep scoring goals and creating chances," he added. "I had my first 90 minutes and I am not saying that I felt great because I am tired. But I am glad to have done it as physically and mentally you know you need to get it out the way. The games coming up will be real tests for us and we need to be better than we were tonight."
