Bristol City winger signs on loan

We are pleased to announce that Wimbledon today completed one more beat-the-deadline loan signing with the addition of Toby Ajala.

The pacy 24-year-old Bristol City winger signed on a six-week loan deal before the close of the emergency loan window at 5.00 pm.

Ajala, who had a spell at Hull City last year and more recently played in the Conference for Hayes and Yeading, is highly-rated at Ashton Gate and Dons boss Neal Ardley is delighted with his capture.

Speaking to Dons Player this afternoon, Neal said: “Toby is a lad who I watched a couple of times at the start of the season and I tried to get him into the Under-21s set-up when I was at Cardiff.

“However, Bristol City had already made a move for him prior to me watching him. They signed him on a short-term deal until January, but I think they are now in the process of trying to tie him up longer term because he has done so well.

“I spoke to Derek McInnes (Bristol City manager), who said that they are delighted with him, but he wants to get Toby out on loan. Toby is a player with pace who can play on either flank or up front. He is what we need as he can bring more pace to our attacking play.”
