FA Cup tie marks new era for AFC Wimbledon Ladies

AFC Wimbledon Ladies start their FA Cup campaign at a new ground on Sunday with their first match at the Archbishop Tenison’s School Sports Ground in New Malden.

The Dons entertain Abbey Rangers (2.00pm start) in the second qualifying round of the FA Women’s Cup with AFC Wimbledon Ladies having left their previous home at Kingsmeadow Athletics & Fitness Centre.

AFC Wimbledon Ladies are currently seventh in the London & South East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division, but they go into Sunday’s cup tie in confident mood after a 6-1 win against Panthers Ladies. New signing Kellie Pizzaferro scored twice on her debut with Aramide Okekunle striking a double and Bernice Tully and Louise Cooper netting the other goals.

Tony Milstead’s side have their next four games at home if any Dons supporters wish to go along and watch and next Sunday promises to be an exciting match as they entertain Wimbledon Town Ladies in the first round of the Surrey County Cup.

The full address where AFC Wimbledon Ladies will now play during the rest of 2012/13 is as follows: Archbishop Tenison's Sports Ground, Arthur Road, Motspur Park, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 6LX.
