AFC Wimbledon Ladies set-up clash with The Shots

AFC Wimbledon Ladies moved to within 90 minutes of the FA Women’s Cup first round proper with an emphatic victory against Abbey Rangers.

 

The Dons showed no mercy against a side ranked much lower than them in the pyramid and they were today rewarded with a third qualifying round tie at home to Aldershot on Sunday, 11 November.

There was better to come though from the Dons after the break and Shannon Lindo made it 3-0 six minutes after the interval. With Abbey starting to tire, Wimbledon turned on the style with goals from Louise Cooper and Bernice Tully making it 5-0, before Pizzaferro struck her second of the match near the end.

 

It is sure to get harder for Wimbledon Ladies in the next round with Southern Region Premier Division side Aldershot lying in wait, but Tony Milstead’s side will be confident of progressing into the first round with home advantage (1.00pm start at Archbishop Tenison’s Sports Ground) on Sunday, 11 November.
