The boss admits his surprise after rampant Dons display
Neal Ardley admitted his players have surprised him with their level of performances since he took over as AFC Wimbledon manager.
Wimbledon secured their first win since Neal Ardley was appointed two weeks ago with a convincing 3-1 victory against Bristol Rovers and the Dons boss was full of praise for his side’s performance.
Speaking to Dons Player, Neal Ardley said: “The information we have been trying to get through to the players in such a short space of time has been taken in quickly. I have been surprised by how quickly they have taken to it. Obviously, there are things still to work on, but the intensity that they have played at and the way that they have tried to defend from the front shows that we are on the same page. Some of the bits we have been trying to work on they have done well with, one is with our set-pieces and we have scored from two in two games now. You cannot ask for any more than that. I am sure we will have little dips in form and we will continue to have a look at it.”
Neal Ardley added that victory was crucial to ease the pressure on his side with League 2 leaders Gillingham up next at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Saturday.
