In-form midfielder backs Jack to get among the goals

Rashid Yussuff says it is a matter of time before Jack Midson starts getting back among the goals after the striker’s man of the match performance last night.

Our top scorer from last season may not have scored since the start of September, partly due to suspension, but his overall performance earned the star man award from our match sponsors, Kingston-based New Day Pictures.

And speaking to Dons Player, Rashid said: “Jack is great and is one of those players who you want next to you in the team. He is not a player you would want to play against as he is always bright and I am sure the goals will come for him.”

Rashid has certainly been hitting the back of the net lately, though his claim that last night’s third goal should be credited to him is probably an argument best saved for the Dubious Goals Panel or equivalent organisation.

However, there is no doubt that the midfielder has thrived in more attacking midfield role in recent weeks.

“We have a lot of exciting players and have had them since the start of the season,” said Rashid. “The new management have come in with a great game plan and we are starting to bring it into games. We have been playing a higher tempo and making sure that we all know our jobs. The players started where we had left off at Fleetwood by going into the game with the same tempo. We said we would go into this match with no fear. We played with freedom and got the three goals that we deserved in the first-half and then kept it tight in the second-half.”
