Sammy Moore update

24 October 2012

Midfielder expected to be out for over three months

Physio Mike Rayner has this afternoon confirmed that he expects Sammy Moore to be out injured for between three and four months.

Midfielder Sammy came off injured at Fleetwood on Saturday and scan results have shown that he has a small fracture at the top of his shin (tibia) bone.

An initial X-ray on Monday was inconclusive, hence the delay in releasing information, but Sammy was sent for an MRI scan and a CT scan yesterday to assess the extent of the damage.

Mike feared the injury could have been worse at first, but scans showed that there was no cruciate ligament damage or cartilage damage in the knee.

“The fracture is not displaced at the moment and the first four weeks are therefore vital in the recovery process. We are looking at between three and four months for this kind of injury.” Mike said:

All at AFC Wimbledon wish Sammy a speedy recovery in his recuperation.
