First win for Under-18s
A superb individual goal from Charlie Fayers sparked a first win of the season for AFC Wimbledon Under-18s on Saturday.
Charlie struck the second in a 2-0 victory as the young Dons earned their first Football League Youth Alliance victory this season at home to Aldershot.Though 1-0 up, Wimbledon were struggling to get the better of their opponents until Charlie’s intervention 10 minutes before the break.

However, 10 minutes before the break came the moment of the match when Charlie Fayers picked up the ball 10 yards inside the Aldershot half, before beating two challenges and smashing home from just outside the area.
That did produce an improvement from the Dons and Sam Baffour cracked an excellent drive against the upright. In a second-half of few chances, the hosts held on to what they had got, but the impressive Baffour was only inches wide from opening his account near the end. Two was enough for the Dons though and they now have a two-week break before their next competitive game.
