A summary of the last DTB meeting
The Dons Trust Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, 12 September.
The meeting started with an update on the current stadium, and progress on a return to a new stadium in Wimbledon.
There then followed the monthly report from the football club board. This included the actions being taken by the board and the management team to address the poor start to the season. There was also discussion on issues arising and feedback following the launch of the new FLi official website, and new fundraising ideas.
The 12-month accounts were then reviewed, including a discussion on the contribution of Kingsmeadow Live to club income. Following this, the board discussed the upcoming Special General Meeting, and planning for the Dons Trust elections later this year.
The meeting concluded with an excellent presentation by Nigel Higgs on Youth Football at AFC Wimbledon. We have achieved Category 3 status in the new Premier League-funded academy system for PL and FL clubs. This is a significant achievement, reflected by four youth players progressing into the first team squad this season. The Board expressed their appreciation to Nigel for his work on this vitally important aspect of our Club.
Finally, the Board considered a proposal for the Club to become a member of the Football Supporters Federation, and welcomed an invitation to meet members of the Wycombe Wanderers Trust at our away match on 22 September.
