Luke Moore interview

Returning forward on Northampton test

Luke Moore says he is determined to make up for lost time after his start to the season was disrupted by injury.

Our longest-serving player enjoyed a prolific pre-season, but he has yet to find the net in 2012/13 with a knee injury having sidelined him since our defeat at Burton.

However, Luke is set to return to the squad tomorrow at Northampton and offer manager Terry Brown another forward option with Jack Midson and Byron Harrison both having starting the season with a bang.

Speaking to Dons Player, Luke said: “I have done quite a lot of training this week, but yesterday was the first day of training with the lads. I felt alright and hopefully I will be involved on Saturday. It is always going to be tough to get back into the team when you have been out for a couple of weeks and we have some good players. I am going to have to work as hard as I can and if my opportunity comes, then I will have to take it.”

On our trip to Northampton, Luke added: “They will always try to go long with the players they have up front. They signed Clive Platt in the summer, who is a big target man and we are going to have our work cut out. But we will not be just going there to get a point as we need to get up the table. We will go there with confidence and if we play to our maximum ability as a team, then we can go there and get three points.”
