New centre-back signs on

We have today completed the signing of a new centre-back with Will Antwi having joined in time to make his debut against Rochdale tomorrow.

Injuries to Mat Mitchel-King and Dale Bennett meant that boss Terry Brown needed to strengthen in defence and Will has therefore signed on the dotted line.

Will, who has been without a club this season, will link-up with Terry for a second time as he previously played for him at Aldershot. The 29-year-old has Football League experience with both Wycombe Wanderers and Dagenham & Redbridge.

Speaking to Dons Player, Terry Brown, said: “Mat Mitchel-King came back from compassionate leave and managed to pick up an injury to his back and Dale Bennett picked up an injury to his knee in the last game. With both being doubtful, it left me with very few possibilities and I needed to get a player in who could play a few games and help see us through. Will is a player I worked with for three years at Aldershot and I know what he can do.”

A Ghanaian international, Will last season had spells at both Luton Town and Grimsby.

Left-back Curtis Haynes-Brown has been given the green light to play by his club Yeovil Town and our loan signing could be in line for his home debut after he was stretchered off on his one and only appearance for us so far at Bradford three weeks ago.
