Terry on Torquay test

Terry Brown has confirmed that defender Dale Bennett will return to the squad for our League 2 match at home to Torquay United tomorrow night.

The on-loan Watford man has shaken off a knee injury and is expected to feature, but Mat Mitchel-King (back) is not yet ready to return and Curtis Haynes-Brown is a doubt after picking up a knock against Rochdale on Saturday.

Terry Brown believes a rejuvenated Byron Harrison can cause Martin Ling’s men big problems at the back as the striker is in line to replace Jack Midson, who misses out due to suspension.

Speaking to Dons Player, Terry said: “Jack will be a loss to us, but I thought Byron did very well on Saturday and he will lead the line very well for us. He is very difficult to play against and if we get the ball to him in dangerous areas, then he will be a handful for their centre-halves. We are at home and we need to take the game to Torquay. We at least kept our patience and tried to play on Saturday in difficult circumstances. We were down to 10 men but still went forward and scored one, if not two, decent goals in the end. “

Terry Brown’s men made amends for a 4-0 defeat at Plainmoor last season with a 2-0 victory near the end of 2011/12, thanks to goals from Rashid Yussuff and George Moncur. After making the play-offs last season, Torquay have endured a below-par start to the season and they will arrive at the Cherry Red Records Stadium just three points ahead of the Dons after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Rotherham.
