More stars of 1988 now confirmed

We are delighted to announce that three more Wimbledon heroes from 1988 will be attending the club’s extra special end of season dinner on Saturday, 11 May.

John Scales, Terry Phelan and Clive Goodyear – all members of the triumphant FA Cup-winning squad from 25 years ago – have confirmed that they will be joining us at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

The event marks two hugely significant Wimbledon achievements with the 50th anniversary of the club’s FA Amateur Cup win and 25 years since the Crazy Gang’s famous FA Cup win against Liverpool.

As part of those celebrations, FA Cup-winning manager Bobby Gould will be joined by the stars of 1988, along with players from the 1963 success at Wembley. There will also be representation from the players and management of 2012/13.

The list of Wimbledon personalities confirmed so far is as follows: Bobby Gould, Andy Thorn, Terry Gibson, Dave Beasant, John Scales, Terry Phelan, Clive Goodyear, Neal Ardley, Joe Dillon, John Martin, Dave Willis, Bobby Ardrey, George Coote, Mike Kelly and Geoff Hamm.

The famous Player of the Year speech will be the pinnacle of what is set to be a fantastic evening that will live long in the memory. These celebrations will be combined with our end of season celebrations for the 2012-13 season.
