Dons Trust update

15 August 2013

A summary from the latest DTB meeting

The Dons Trust Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, 7 August, with several important items on the agenda.

.July meeting However, a summary from that meeting is available on the DT website by clicking on    Due to the largely commercial nature of the July minutes, it was agreed it would not be appropriate to publish these.  These were approved subject to minor amendments. The first items to agree were the minutes for the previous two meetings.

Previous under-performing items were being looked into (eg programme sales).  It was noted that in the coming year extra provisions would need to be made for the stadium development proposals.  A few items were still being resolved. The first substantive item on the agenda was an update on the accounts for 2012/13. Chief Executive Erik Samuelson took the board through the draft figures, which showed a small profit for the year despite the club only narrowly avoiding relegation.

A renewed action plan to deal with fans causing trouble was agreed.  Erik Samuelson indicated that action was already being taken to deal with the people involved, some of whom were known to be supporters of other clubs. There then followed a discussion on the Millwall game and the flare incident.

A broad reallocation of duties was required and the effect on some key roles was agreed.  A number of new work streams would now emerge from this work.  The impact on current cash flow was also discussed and arrangements for future funding.  Erik Samuelson then updated the DTB on the latest developments regarding discussions on a potential move to a new stadium in Wimbledon, including communications with developers and planning arrangements.

Actions were agreed should this event happen again. The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy draw on Saturday, 17 August was then discussed and the high likelihood of drawing Milton Keynes once again.

The second half of the meeting focussed on preparation for the SGM (on 16 September), including a discussion on possible changes to the board election processes and an away day for DTB members (on 22 September). The meeting concluded at around 10.30pm.
