Midfielder fronts up after disappointing defeat

says that Wimbledon are capable of much better than they showed at Exeter City and he is determined to put things right against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.Peter Sweeney 

The experienced midfielder admitted that his side fell well below the standards they had set so far this season and that the players will be working hard to bounce back with two home games coming up.

, Sweeney said: “Exeter are a good side, but we were not at our best. If we had played like we did last week (against Wycombe) it might have been a totally different story. There is so much more that we could have done. We started the game poorly; we did not match them physically and the work-rate was not up to the standards that we have set for ourselves lately. “The manager told us straight that it was not good enough. We will be having a good week in training so that we can bounce back – it’s as simple as that. We will be working hard to ensure that we win our home games coming up.”
