Under-18s head into new season with confidence high

AFC Wimbledon Under-18s made it four wins out of six during pre-season with a superb strike from Egli Kaja sealing another victory.

Kaja (pictured above) maintained his rich vein of form by netting once again yesterday to help Mark Robinson’s side to a 2-0 win against Kinetic Academy.

Mark Robinson said: “We were very good in spells, but a little sloppy at times. Kinetic Academy were very lively and had skilful players who are on trial with professional clubs and they recently beat Crystal Palace.

“Overall, it was a positive step for us as we head into Saturday’s league opener against Barnet. In the second-half we dominated possession and our second goal was a wonder strike by Egli after a lovely five-man passing move.”

Ben Harrison earned the man of the match award.
