Great save earns first point for Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon Ladies earned their first league point of the season on Sunday with goalkeeper Damaris Ott making a superb save to get her side off the mark.
Ott (pictured above) made the save of the game to earn a 0-0 draw for the Dons Ladies at home to Eastbourne in the London & South East Regional Women’s Premier Division.
However, it was far from one-way traffic and Wimbledon came close to earning victory in the second-half. Captain Louise Cooper led by example and she shot just wide from a free-kick, before Coralie Kouassi twice almost broke the deadlock.
Wimbledon were relieved though when the visitors squandered a great chance of a winner near the end, but a draw was certainly a fair result and it offered something to build on for the Dons.
